Health Plus Makes Big Strides at Breast Cancer Walk

New York, NY - October 19, 2005 — This past Sunday, Health Plus participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, this year sending teams to walk in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. The theme of this year’s walk was “Hope starts here.” The event raised over half a million dollars for breast cancer research.

This is an event about which the Health Plus Outreach and Health Education Department cares passionately. Breast Cancer is a severe health threat to women of all races and ages. In the United States, a woman is diagnosed with Breast Cancer once every two minutes. Each year, Health Plus teams participate at this event in all Boroughs.

“Breast Cancer is a serious problem,” said Tom Early, Chief Executive Officer of Health Plus, “not only for the women diagnosed but for the families and friends of those affected. Health Plus is committed to working with the American Cancer Society towards finding a cure and improving treatment methods for this life-shattering disease.”
