Brooklyn, NY - July 25, 2006 — As the  Martin Luther King Jr Concert Series celebrates its 24th summer of R&B, reggae, hip hop, and classic soul at Wingate Field in Brooklyn, managed care organization Health Plus has once again signed on as a major sponsor of this event. The  outdoor spectacular, one of numerous concert events organized by Brooklyn Borough President, Marty Markowitz, featured one of its most popular traditions on Monday night – “Gospel Night”, with Tye Tibbett and Greater Annointing, Lexi, Lowell Pye, and the perennial gospel favorite, The Mighty Clouds of Joy.

“It is always a pleasure,” says executive Director of Health Plus, Tom Early, “to collaborate with Marty, who shares our longstanding commitment to this community. And we’re always happy to be part of an event that brings summer joy to the people we serve.”

The concert series, which runs Monday nights through August 21, will present artists such as the R&B sensation Roberta Flack, hip-hop legend LL Cool J, neo-soul singers Anthony Hamilton and Angie Stone, The Temptations Review, an all-star “Caribbean Night” lineup, and more.  Health Plus and Marty Markowitz are determined to prove yet again that there is never a dull moment in Brooklyn, New York.
