Brooklyn, NY - November 7, 2006 — Last week, at the Fleur de Lis, a restaurant in Ridgewood, New York, Health Plus Brooklyn South Regional Marketing Manager Angel Rivera was honored with an award from the National Federation of Puerto Rican Pioneers, Inc., at their 11th annual awards ceremony.  Many of Angel’s fellow managers from Health Plus, the managed care organization, were on hand to show their support.

Each year, the National Federation of Puerto Rican Pioneers, Inc., selects five members of the community who have shown an outstanding dedication to the advancement of Puerto Ricans in New York City.  Mr. Rivera, the organization acknowledged, through his work at Health Plus, has played a pivotal role in the success and access to healthcare for many Puerto Ricans, young and old alike, throughout Brooklyn and the rest of New York City.

”I’ve been working with this community for a long time,” said Angel Rivera, Regional Marketing Manager for Health Plus, “and the work has always been its own reward.  However, getting recognized here tonight by this organization just emphasizes the importance of the work we do at Health Plus, and makes me all the more proud to continue serving the people of this great city.”

Health Plus Regional Manager Angel Rivera stands with Hector Quiñones of the National Federation of Puerto Rican Pioneers, Inc., who presented Mr. Rivera with an award for service to the community.
