Bronx, New York - November 14, 2006 — Last week the Bronx Chamber of Commerce held its fourth annual awards Banquet, and Health Plus, the managed care organization was there as one of the major sponsors.  The highlight of the evening was the Legend Award, which was presented to New York Yankee “Hall of Famer” Reggie Jackson.  A special Appearance was also made by former Yankee right fielder Darryl Strawberry.

The Bronx Chamber of Commerce promotes opportunity for local businesses to flourish, large and small. Health Plus, which works with every community in need throughout the five boroughs of New York City and Nassau County, has always had a strong presence in the Bronx.  And, for many of the chamber’s small businesses, Health Plus helps provide access to free and affordable health insurance for their employees and their families.

“We are very proud to have such a strong relationship with the Bronx Chamber of Commerce,” says Tom Early, Executive Director for Health Plus.  “The revitalization of the Bronx is not just important for Bronx residents, but for New York City as a whole. We salute the Bronx and the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, as they continue to work wonders in this borough, and we will continue to offer them our full support.”
