Queens, New York - March 27, 2007 — This past weekend at the Rockwood Park Jewish Center in Howard Beach, the Queens Jewish Community Council celebrated their 38th Anniversary, holding their 11th Annual Testimonial Breakfast and  Awards Ceremony to honor the city’s community and government leaders.  Managed Care Organization Health Plus was in attendance, and also there to receive a few awards.

Among the honorees was Health Plus Executive Director Tom Early who, along with New York City Councilman David Weprin, received the highest honors from the Council -- Mr. Early for all the work his company, Health Plus, has done in the community.   Tom Early’s award was presented to him by New York City Comptroller William Thompson.  Also honored that day was Health Plus Director of Communications and External Affairs, Kathryn Soman, who received a special award for her contributions to the community and the QJCC.

“I am absolutely honored to accept this award,” said Tom Early, Health Plus Executive Director.  “But it is also an honor and pleasure to work with the Queens Jewish Community Council.  They have always been one of our favorite organizations to partner with, and the fact that I’m standing here, being honored by them, proves that, together, we’re on the right path.  I’m certain that this is a path we can walk together in the years to come and continue to do great things for the people of this and every other community in New York City.”
