Queens, New York - March 28, 2007 — Last weekend, the Corona-Elmhurst Center for Economic Development, Inc., held their First Annual Women’s Empowerment Breakfast and Expo at the Natives Restaurant Theatre and Bar in Jackson Heights, Queens. The event, which honored numerous women, including Queens Borough President Helen Marshall, was sponsored by managed care organization Health Plus, as well as others, including Commerce Bank and the Office of Assemblyman Jose Peralta

This newly created event will be held each year to single out some of the most outstanding women in the community. This year Ada Rodriguez, Health Plus Chief Marketing Officer, was selected as one of the prestigious women to receive this honor for all the hard work Health Plus, in part under her leadership, has done, offering free and affordable health insurance for children and adults in the five Boroughs of New York City and Nassau County.

At Health Plus, we strive to ensure that children and adults in all communities have access to proper healthcare that is also affordable.
