Brooklyn, New York - August 7, 2007 — As part of National Health Center Week and in preparation for the upcoming school year, managed care organization Health Plus and longtime partner Lutheran Medical Center have teamed up once again to host a health fair.

To escape the rain that had snuck up on southern Brooklyn earlier that morning, the festivities were moved into the hospital from the park across the street, where the fair had taken place in previous years. Despite the weather and close quarters, those in attendance were treated to a variety of free health screenings for both children and adults. Children in attendance lined up to play carnival style games at the Health Plus table and were given school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, and portfolio folders.

“I am always one hundred percent behind anything that will help our children excel in their studies,” says Tom Early, Executive Director of Health Plus. “It’s also an honor to be a part of National Health Center Week. Getting people from the community into the hospital for their free screenings is one of the best ways to raise awareness about proper health maintenance.”
