Queens, New York - April 22, 2008 — Although spring is barely just upon us, neighborhoods across New York City have already begun the annual tradition of closing their streets to cars and opening their shops, sidewalks, and hearts to the people of their communities.  The Myrtle Avenue Festival, one of the first big street fairs of the season, brought out huge crowds this past Sunday, and once again, managed care organization Health Plus was there, not only as a sponsor, but to celebrate with the young and young-at-heart.

Together with the Fire Department of New York, the Museum of Natural History, local businesses, and many others, Health Plus delighted crowds along Myrtle Avenue, between Seneca and Wyckoff avenues, with give-a-ways, clowns, face painting, delicious carnival fare, and much more.

“This is one my favorite times of year,” said Tom Early, Executive Director of Health Plus, “and not just because baseball season has arrived.  This spring has been very kind to us in the last few weeks, and I think that all New Yorkers are feeling as positive as the weather.  We at Health Plus are very happy to spend a beautiful afternoon with the people on Myrtle Avenue and look forward to the rest of the spring and the summer months to come, which will be full of festivals, concerts, and much more.”
