Brooklyn, New York - July 14, 2008 — After 30 years of delighting crowds of Brooklynites, the Seaside Summer Concert Series is back with some of the greatest line-ups to date – once again presented by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and sponsored by managed care organization, Health Plus.

Thousands came out last Thursday night to Asser Levy Park at West 5th Street and Surf Avenue in Brooklyn’s famed Coney Island for opening night, as Health Plus and Marty Markowitz got the summer concert series off to a big start with “An Evening with Michael Bolton”.  Concertgoers enjoyed a VIP reception and then danced the night away beneath Brooklyn skies.

“This concert series is always one of the summer’s biggest highlights for us,” said Tom Early, Executive Director for Health Plus.  “It’s a pleasure to work with Borough President Markowitz’s office and be able to offer free music to so many of our friends and neighbors, but I think everyone here enjoys participating just as much as we do sponsoring this event.”

The Seaside Summer Concert Series will continue throughout the summer every Thursday night at Asser Levy Park in Coney Island with some big names, including, Liza Minnelli, Smokey Robinson,  legendary founder of the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, and many more.  For more information visit http://www.brooklynconcerts.com/seaside.html.
