The event, which ran along Third Avenue between 69th street and 94th street, boasted many of the carnival staples that revelers have come to love and expect, such as clowns, face painting, and, of course, the food – with a few extras that have given this yearly festival the personal touch of the neighborhood it represents. Countless local bands took to the stages that peppered the grounds, proving once and for all, that Bay Ridge knows how to rock. And for the rock-star eaters, the festival once again offered its famous Buffalo Chicken Wing Eating Contest.
Health Plus staff was on hand offering games, snacks, and give-a-ways, as well as information about free or affordable health coverage from Health Plus.
“This is always a fun event,” said Tom Early, Executive Director of Health Plus. “A number of our staff live in the area and have personal attachments to this festival. So it becomes another occasion where we can really mix business with pleasure. I know we could have used some nicer weather for the day, but the rain has never slowed us down before, and it never slows down Brooklyn.”
