La Fuerza Unida was founded in 1978 to serve the needs of a growing Spanish-speaking community in the City of Glen Cove, Long Island. Its mission was to improve the social, literary, educational, cultural, and economic conditions of the community. In 1987 the organization expanded when awarded Neighborhood Preservation Company status, and have since then become heavily involved in creating and maintaining affordable housing.
In the 30 years since its founding, La Fuerza Unida has continued to expand itsservices and still looks for new ways to better serve the Hispanic Community of Glen Cove. Partnering with other like-minded organizations, they ensure that ensure that local residents receive the services they need.
“It is always a great feeling to work with like-minded organizations who share the same commitment to the community that we do,” said Ada Rodriguez, Chief Marketing Officer for Health Plus. “We believe that everyone should have access to essential services, such as healthcare, quality education, and affordable housing. So it is an honor to be able to work with La Fuerza, now that we are working in Nassau County. We look forward to partnering with them more in the near future.”
