Brooklyn, NY - October 17, 2003 — Health Plus has awarded Jessica Martinez 2002 Employee of the year. The Medicaid managed care organization selected her for her all around performance and attitude.

A committee, made up of Jessica's co-workers and managers, chose her the employee of the year among several other nominations. The actual award consists of a plaque and a check for $1,000.

Jessica is now a configuration specialist at Health Plus, responsible for working to maintain and update our provider network of Doctors, hospitals and specialists. However, as the award is for last year's accomplishments, Jessica is being recognized for the work she performed in 2002 as a senior claims analyst, responsible for managing and processing claims.

Jessica started with Health Plus as a clerk in 1999 and over that four-year period, in addition to being named employee of the year, she has been promoted four times.

A graduate of Fort Hamilton High School, Jessica, who grew up in Bay Ridge, now lives and works in Sunset Park.

"The job is very rewarding - even without this honor," says Jessica. "When you live in the same neighborhood where your company is giving back, it's really satisfying. Strangers will see your Health Plus identity badge as you walk down the street, and recognize it, and approach you, thanking you for your company's efforts."
